P1010035 HA HA HA!! Yea Yea laugh all you want. Most people would get excited when they see two Evos’ crusin da streets, or two RX-8s’ racing each other on the high way, or Skylines breaking into the sky-line, or some bulky twin turbo charged 350zs’ twirlin da streets. Who would ever thought what they see instead, are two local made Proton Saga SE with a full body make up. Yea yea laugh la laugh. But we’re damn proud of it man~!!! At least it’s what we could afford for students who are car enthusiasts but limited to their student’s budget. Proton for so long has collaborated with Mitsubishi Motors. Img_5021 So that’s why u came across with Wira’s transformed into EVO III, or a Satria into an Eclipse (sumthin like Kopaks, u guys should check out his ride), or a Waja into an Evo 9 (sort of, WajEvo shah would say). However a Proton Saga or Iswara is not far from the Mitsubishi family emself. In fact, our very own first eva national car the Proton Saga was designed based on a Mitsubishi Lancer Fiore back in 1983. So I’m proud to say dat a Saga or Iswara is under da same Mitsubishi family tree. YEAY~!!!!

Img_5030 However, what I and my comrade here are trying to achieve is actually to upgrade or do a face lift on these long forgotten Sagas. We’re no trying to be Evos, or Skylines or what….even though Zam claimed that his car (the gold one) looks like a Skyline from the front. NOT! It’s just a way of face lifting your low class machines into a sumthin different just to create the WOW factors. Just so you feel good bout urself. Ey big boys also got big toys what~!!

Img_5069 First stop, The Golden Delight, dats Zam’s ride. Amir Farid!! Suboh!! Korang tgok ah kete Zam~!!! Eheks. The owner got this car about a year now I suppose. However he’s the second owner. When first bought, it was kinda still stock all the way, except for the front speakers and a pair of fog lamps. No rims, even till now there isn’t. The wheels are still stuck with plastic caps, even on the front left it’s badly damaged. Nothing he could do but to change the looks up front and rear. If you were to go and look for bumpers available for an Iswara in the market, this front bumper would be one of it. However, with some customization, the front grill had a lil touchup just so that it looks as if its joined from the hood. The rear bumper needs no customization, its right from the factory that nowadays they provide more options for saga and iswara owners. Img_5023 This rear has the same design with an EK Honda, or a Mitsubishi Evo series, but the only different is it has too much fin ( the pointy thingy that sticks out ). This makes it difficult when u want to change your muffler tip or to a bigger tail pipe, coz u’ll have to cut out on of the fins, which might make it look ugly. I forgot to mention about another collaboration that proton made when they started to face lift this Iswara SE. Lotus! That is why the interior has a seemingly, or quite similar to the present day lotus interiors. The only problem is….there’s no compartment. All it has is just an old school like desk to put ur things on. You don’t have a compartment to place ur service booklet, ur CDs, condoms and etc. The next thing u’ll know when u bring some one riding with you she’ll say,  “owh u brought a condom with u”. Play safe boys~!!Img_5008

Img_4984 Next, the Dark Angel, my ride~!!! Pretty much it’s just the same stock car, just a lil few changes. When you drive ur car passing by a road block and they did nothing but just let you through, it means that ur car’s fine. That’s what my car is. JUST FINE. Originally, as mentioned before it’s a combination of a Mitsubishi Lancer Fiore on the outside and inside it’s a Lotus. Well, it doesn’t stops there. The front bumper has a three layer of parts combined and sealed together. The grills are commonly found in stores and the bumper….well here’s the problem. I too am not sure bout the bumper. When I came across to customize this bumper at Next Level Customs in Sunway, Aaron told me that he’ll fit in a Honda Integra onto mine. 1024r04w_9 Maybe it is, and maybe it isn’t. However, later I found the same design on a C class Mercedez. So was Aaron rite, or was that C class usin the same bumper. Finally the front skirt belongs to a Proton Waja with the side fins originally attached to it. I wasn’t to impressed with Aaron’s work at first as the bumper was too high. So I had to go to Ali’s customz to add in a front skirt. Originally a Waja’s body is way bigger and wider compared to an Iswara. So in order to fit it in, Ali had to modify it a lil bit so it fits in the iswara mixed with Integra/Merc bumper. Img_5075 The side skirts are also of a proton waja which was also customized by Ali emself. The same thing’s done here as a Waja is longer than an Iswara, the side skirts were modified so that it is shorter and so it can fit in. If you’re wondering how short an Iswara is; a Produa Kancil’s side skirts can easily fit in a Proton Iswara’s side. So if you like the side skirts of a Kancil that u see on the road, you can just get one and simply fit it in. I couldn’t spend more on customizing the rear, so it was just simply taken from the catalogue. This time the side skirts are made of PU, meaning not fibre, meaning it wont break, instead it bents. Shibree would’ve remembered this coz once I got my rear skirts fell off at the campus entrance. The pak guard said “ abang abang, bumper abang jatuh ah”. Booster_n_volt_meter_1 I was like, “Cibai!! Malu aih!!”. But the good thing is it didn’t break, it just bends all the way to da ground. So, meaning, u pay a lil more for a P.U. skirt rather than a cheap fibre skirt that easily breaks so that you can save money from buying a new one just in case of an accident.

Img_5053_1 Other than that, the wheels are just of a 15” inch BSA ( Malaysian Made lar ) Ray Engineering ciplak one. But if you were to go for the original Rays, u’ll find this design. Hopefully, I’ll get the chance to change it to a 16”, even better I can get a 17”. But here’s da thing, the bigger ur rims are the heavier, the heavier it is, the more acceleration you’ll need to move your car, meaning the more you need to pump in gas, thus, needs more patrol. ( Pak lah! Kurang kan la harga minyak~!!! ).P1010023  The spoiler is a GT wing design, non-original of course. If it were, it would’ve cost me 1k plus to get a carbonated fibre GT wing. This one’s just papan with carbon fibre stickers. Eheheks~!!! But hell it works and looks just nice on the rear. The Lotus interior has not change much though, just change the speakers front and rear, added some gauges for booster and volt, gear knob and of course a CD player. Ehehks. Keep a DVD player in your car, abis la bang! So pretty much that’s if for the two make overs of these Iswara Special Edition. This one sure is special, 4 me dat is. Moto sport ku tok.P1010033
